Just five minutes by scooter from the world famous surf breaks of Uluwatu and Padang, Rapture’s surf camp in Padang is surrounded by lush Balinese gardens, and offers many areas to relax after a long days surf.
The camp accommodates up to 25 guests, and has a variety of rooms for every budget, from deluxe dorms to private villas.
Within the grounds of the surf camp there is a dorm to sleep 4 with a/c, four twin rooms, two private villas that can sleep up to four and two private bungalows. All rooms are centered around the swimming pool which catches the sun throughout the day

Large 8-man Bell Tents shared by 3 Surf Camp Guests
All our surf camp packages in Oyambre include accommodation in one of our large bell tents. Designed to sleep up to 8 people, you will be sharing a bell tent with a maximum of 2 others surf camp guests.
All our bell tents have a centre pole, an interior mesh zip curtain behind the door curtains and come with mesh windows at the base for better ventilation. Our bell tents are tall enough to stand a surfboard in and wide enough for some morning yoga stretches.
A good night’s sleep is key when spending your days outside in the sun and in the water. That’s why we provide all our surf camp guests with a single, high-quality memory foam mattress – no need to bring an inflatable mattress or camping mat. All our mattresses are allergy-free, high density and super comfy. All you need to bring along on your surf trip are a pillow, sleeping bag or bedding.

If you’re going on surf holidays with your partner or friend and would like a private tent for just the two of you, you can upgrade to one of our private bell tents for 2 surf holiday guests here in our Oyambre surf camp during the booking process. Breakfast & Packed Lunches
Every morning between 9:00 and 11:00, we start the day with a breakfast buffet that includes teas, coffee, juices, milk and cereals, fresh bread, cakes, a variation of spreads and jams, cheese and cold meats as well as fresh fruit. At breakfast, our surf camp guests can also prepare their packed lunches, sandwiches and salads, for the day at the beach.
COVID-UPDATE: if government guidelines do not allow for a buffet-style service, we will provide a preorder breakfast and lunch service.
Please bring a tupperware box and cutlery and help us reduce plastic and wrapping waste.
Hearty Surf Camp Dinners
On 4 nights of your surf holiday week at around 19:00, our on-site chef prepares a fresh dinner for you that guests and team enjoy together. We have vegetarian and vegan options available upon request. And if you have any allergies or other dietary requirements, please let us know during the booking process. Every Sunday, we invite you to join our traditional Wine & Cheese night where we sample some local wines and cheeses – one of our surf camp week highlights.
Eat Out Nights
We have 3 ‘eat out’ nights per week where we encourage you to visit one of the local restaurants and try some traditional Spanish tapas and other local delicacies. There is a restaurant/bar on the campsite as well as a restaurant on the neighbouring caravan park. There are more bars and restaurants by the beach and in the nearby towns of Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera. The campsite also has a little kiosk to stock up on sweet and savoury treats – opening times are ‘Spanish’ and vary from day to day.
Please note that we do not serve breakfasts on Saturdays due to early departures and late arrivals of many guests on change-over days. Thank you.

Surfing lessons
Surf in Portugal - Cascais
Portugal is a great place for surfing, along with France, England, and Spain, it is one of the top European countries for surfing. There are plenty of surf spots in the wider Lisbon area, and it’s where a lot of locals like to surf. Especially on the weekends! Several well-known spots include Carcavelos, Guincho (a popular spot for kite surfing and windsurfing as well), Bolina, and Monte Estoril.
These spots are extremely enjoyable when there’s a powerful swell from the southwest and wind blowing from the northeast. If you book surf lessons in Cascais, you will be surprised by the beauty and variety of the beaches.
Free Spirit House is located five minutes from Guincho beach and 15 minutes from Carcavelos and these are the main spots they will take you every day. A surfer van will come to pick you up at the house for your surf lessons in Cascais and drop you back at the house again. The lesson takes approximately two hours but with the trip, you can count around three to four hours. The price of lessons includes the wetsuit, the surfboard, and the lesson but it excludes the transport, which is an extra 5 EUR.

Free Spirit House Cascais teaches all levels of surfers, beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
When are you considered a beginner as a surfer?
Someone who has never surfed before, or only once or twice, is considered to be a beginner. So up to and including the level that allows you on a good day to glide along with the white water of a broken wave and stay on your board. You'll surf on a larger surfboard, ranging from mini Malibu to a soft top.
Intermediates can surf down-the-line, duck dive, and make at least a few turns in succession. To be considered advanced, you can easily go for any type of wave. You'll surf rail to rail easily and you'll use various boards for different types of waves.

How to get there
Located along the coast of Oyambre Natural Park, we have pitched our surf camp among the rolling hills of Cantabria. With a stunning mountain backdrop to one side of our surf camp and the seaside to the other, here in the north of Spain, you are spending your surf holidays in a beautiful location. The beach we teach surfing on is ‘Playa de Oyambre’, located only a short walk from our surf camp’s campsite.

PAYMENT
- A small deposit is required to secure your booking.
- Your balance is due at check-in.
CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING
- To cancel go to the MyAccount section and log in or register and you can cancel from within your account.
- Your deposit is non-refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
- If you cancel anytime up to 7 days before traveling you get a refund of the balance except for 10% administration fee.
